From the Director (8/2/10)

School starts in two days! The 2010 Season is on the brink, and we've got much that is happening with the JCS Band this year.  But first, let me take a moment to say something. As I write this, faculty in-service is in progress (we're breaking for lunch). The challenges that have been presented to us as a group and to me personally have been huge. I am compelled to reaffirm my desire to be more than just a band director. JCS is a place where God should be the centerpoint of our focus, and I find myself reevaluating the priorities that I have presented in this program. Therefore, it is my goal to make Him the focus of our work in the JCS Band program. If we can present Him and His will as our top priorities and focus on His Word first, then all things should be done in a way that glorifies the Lord and demonstrates our love for Him and for one another. May we, director and parents together, present Christ foremost in our lives and worldly success as something that can only come through His blessings and not our own merit. May HE be glorified and may HE bless us in all our endeavors!
